Dave’s Story
Dave’s karate gym and his way of life were at risk, he knew he had knee joints that would eventually need replacing, but it took the threat of not being able to teach his karate classes to get him to finally take the plunge and get them treated. In this customer case study video, we chart Dave’s story, from nearly giving up his way of life to getting back to teaching the next generation of Grimsby’s karate fighters, all because he took the plunge and got a knee replacement done.
Case study, testimonial or customer documentary, whatever you call it, these videos use compelling storytelling to make your product relatable and relevant, because if customers don’t want to buy from the text on your website, then they’ll want to buy from someone like them.
If an explainer video is the technical explanation of “how“ your product works, then a customer testimonial video is a window into the reasons behind “why” they should buy it. Customer documentaries need to be impactful, potential customers need to see themselves in them, giving them something aspirational that they think they’ll be able to achieve if they just go through with buying your product.
Customer Documentary Specialists
Marion’s Story
Marion’s sight was deteriorating, she might not have been able to ride her horses any more and even more importantly, after her husband’s stroke, she was the person who did all of the driving. For Marion the choice was simple, she’d raid her savings and get the cataract operation done quickly to make sure she could stay in the saddle and in the driving seat. In this customer documentary Marion tells her story of why the private cataract surgery she received gave her a new lease of life and freedom.
Gregg’s Story
Gregg has had a crazy life, stunt motorbikes, helicopter pilot, paragliding, he’s done it all. So when his knees started to give way out on a Sunday ride, he knew something needed to be done to keep up the pace. In this customer testimonial video, Gregg tells us why getting an osteotomy done at a private hospital near him to fix the problems with his knees, meant he could get back on the motorbike and back to living life at 100mph.

Frequently asked questions
-
In short: Yes! We can take care of as much or as little of the video production process as you need us to. We can guide you all the way from your initial idea, through creating concepts for videos that are based on video marketing strategy and your companies strategic goal. We offer scriptwriting, planning and organising during pre-production and storyboarding. Or you can do the planning and we can just turn up with our video production gear and take care of filming and editing your video project!
-
We like to mould ourselves to our clients video workflow, tailoring each video project to the way our clients work. As a minimum it’s best if we have a call ahead of pre-production so that we are able to get a feel for the video project and see how we can creatively use video to tell a compelling story that achieves your goals. During filming we’ll take those ideas and bring them to life, finally tweaking and refining them during editing to give you a video deliverable that you have confidence in and that you’re proud to show off.
-
Every video project is different, but video pre-production ideally starts with a call before anything is booked or planned so that we can feed in ideas to make your video shoot flow smoothly offering creative solutions. We can then either leave you to arrange the moving parts of the video shoot yourself or do all of that for you, or a mix of both. The goal of video pre-production is to have a story outline for the final video and a shooting schedule that maps out our time for filming, so that we’re ready to hit the ground running when the lights turn on and the camera starts recording.
-
A solid video marketing strategy is just as important as the final video itself and we are able to offer guidance and advice that works for your goals. Do you want to make a splash on social media? Do you need a breathtaking piece of hero content to wow people on a landing page? Do you need a video that’s going to help you win a killer client pitch? All of these videos will have different optimum lengths, styles and delivery channels, all of which we can help talk you through.
-
We’ll take the story outline and shooting schedule from pre-production to arrange the logistics of the day with you and decide what video production equipment we need and how big the production team should be. A video shoot day generally lasts between 7 and 10 hours in total and we’ll arrive in our van with all of the video lighting and camera equipment that we need for the day. We’ll take some time to set-up the lighting and cameras and then start filming according to the shooting schedule. Throughout the day we’ll check in to make sure we’re capturing all of the video content you need and to see if there’s anything extra you want or that we need to arrange to capture on another shoot day.
-
With video the stories you can tell are limitless, it’s just a question of budget and time. We specialise in turning the everyday into authentic, feel good cinematic video content. We like to tell people’s stories through their own words and from their point of view, to create dramatic, striking visual imagery that captivates and leaves viewers with a window into world which they would never otherwise have seen, in a way that’s genuine and persuasive.
-
Editing is the final piece of the puzzle and like all stages of video production is bespoke to each project. As a general rule, by the time it comes to video editing we will have a rough idea in our heads of what the video should look like, but we will need input from you on a choice of music and visual branding and assets (if any) we’re here to make your film and we want it to feel that way. Once we’ve edited the video, we’ll send over the first draft for you to watch and show to your wider team and stakeholders.
-
Generally each video project has two rounds of amends included as part of editing after delivery of the first draft, so it’s always best to show the first draft to everyone who might want to make a change before passing on that feedback to our editing team. Video editing amends include things like changes to branding assets, font changes and typos in titles, removing shots and tidying up transitions and edits, but doesn’t include larger changes like re-editing to a new music track, which would be considered a brand new re-edit.
-
Timelines for video projects can vary wildly. Generally pre-production for a video should start a minimum of 1 month before the first date of shooting. After the video has been shot, depending of the scope of the video project and it’s complexity, you can expect to receive a first draft from video editing anywhere from within a week, up to a couple of months. Timelines and delivery will be discussed clearly ahead of taking on the project and we always aim to meet our client’s timeframes.
-
Pricing for video projects is always bespoke, different projects require different levels of complexity in pre-production, shooting and editing and a video project that needs a team of 10 people to film, will be priced differently to a project that takes a team of 3. As a rough minimum guide a single day shoot and edit project would be in the region of £2,000 - £3,000 + VAT and expenses. Budgets and pricing will be discussed clearly ahead of taking on each video project.
-
We can create video content on most budgets, and always try to stick to your initial idea as closely as possible. That being said, can we deliver Hollywood CGI or pyrotechnics stunts on a budget of £500? Probably not, but we can try and find a way to tell your brand’s story in a creative way that brings you value without burning through your annual marketing budget in two days.
-
We own and operate professional feature film production grade lighting and cameras that are used on big-budget commercials, documentaries, music videos and films all over the world. For editing we use the latest AI enabled editing programs, that are common place in the workflows of Hollywood feature films. All of our equipment is geared up to produce cinematic video content, that looks goods and sucks viewers in.
-
The intellectual property for all of our video projects is owned by us, but with unlimited usage for our clients as standard. When using third party intellectual property during video editing (for example music) we can either offer a library of options which come with a license or you can send us your own choices, for which you’ll be responsible for arranging a license.
